Disneyworld needs to make a rollercoaster based off of the ride Yzma and Kronk take to the lair. When the ride starts, Yzma’s voice yells “pull the lever, Kronk!” and the ride starts to move backwards so she yells “wrong lever!” and it shoots you forward.

WHY IS THIS NOT HAPPENING?!

YESSSSSSSSS

There is a serious lack of Emperor’s New Groove in the Parks in general

Managed to go to bed only an hour and a half after I had originally intended to. Much better than the usual three.

The Story Behind the Infamous “Hatbox Ghost”- Haunted Mansion
There was a character in the original Haunted Mansion attic scene that was removed almost immediately after the ride opened, it was called the Hatbox Ghost. The bride has always been there, and the Hatbox Ghost used to stand by her, his head would disappear off his shoulders and appear into the box he was holding along to the beat of her heart. He looked like an elderly ghost with a top hat, cloak, and cane. It is said the Hatbox Ghost was taken down because it’s appearance was too scary for guests. The other explanation is the lighting effect for the ghost didn’t work as planned, and Imagineers took it down as it did not work up to it’s explanations. Regardless of the short amount of time it lived, the Hatbox Ghost has quite a popular reputation with Disney goers who hope to see it return.

Dates With Myself

I’ve hit the point in my journey of living in a new country where I can’t use the excuse of being new to this anymore. I’m not sure what the exact limit is, but I think at four months I’ve passed it.

I spent my first couple months “adjusting”, by which I mean spending a lot of time holed up in my room watching Netflix because I was too scared to actually go out and do things. But there came a…

Okay I am going to have a serious problem with The Mindy Project if they manage to make me like Cop Guy by the end of the season

imhoteprisesrises asked: I'm an aspiring songwriter having trouble pairing up my raw words with music. As someone with a hand in poetry, prose and songwriting do you have any advice on bridging that gap and turning text into a workable song?

johndarnielle:

I don’t write text first; learning to ad-lib lyrics out loud while playing, then fixing them up on the page, is one place you might start. I think of song as its own discipline - not of “the words to a song” - words and music make a song, they’re inseparable, for me they come into being simultaneously and grow together. If you’re trying to force an extant text to fit music, you’re going to end up intentionally putting stresses on unstressed syllables to make them fit the rhythm, which in my Church-of-One is total heresy, so words and music have to be written at the same time, lest the heresy hunters come, with their eyes all shiny and their lariats a-crackle.

Someone emailed me about Wine Tours and his last name was Bacchus and I can’t tell if that’s just the world’s most fortunate coincidence or the world’s most clever fake name.

Seriously though, I used to eavesdrop on people talking in the lobby when I worked at a hotel (every front desk worker does it, watch your lobby conversations) but the best was listening to guys on business calls because they got so excited about things sometimes
